THE BIOMARKERS USED FOR DIAGNOSIS AND ASSESSMENT OF RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
Ileana Cosmina Filipescu and Simona Rednic
ABSTRACT
Significant progress in the pathogenesis, assessment and treatment of rheumatoid arthristis has been made after 1920, the year when the most frequently used remissive agents, methotrexate was introduced. The clinical and biological assessment is the “cornerstone” of monitoring any patient with rheumatoid arthritis. The clinical, biological or genetic parameters used individually are not enough to monitoring the disease or to predict the answer to therapy.
